Spottedness vs Flare number: Are they related?

In order to check whether the spottedness on the stellar surface is related to the occurrence rate of flare, we plotted the distribution of detected flares in each percent-age binning of spottedness shown in Fig. 13(b). Most of the flares

detected on LO Peg are found to occur within a spottedness range of 13–18 percent, with the highest number of nine flares occurring at a spottedness range of 16–17 percent.
