A Superflare on an Eclipsing Binary

A >1.3 days long duration X-ray Superflare has been observed on an Eclipsing binary SZ Psc. The superflare missed both the primary and the secondary eclipses. Red Triangles show the Swift XRT observations. Blue diamond shows the XMM-Newton observations almost 1.5 years after the flaring events. The black open circles and solid light-blue lines represent the previous optical observations from Eaton & Henry (2007). The solid purple line is the modeled light curve for a completely unspotted K star. The flaring loop length is estimated to be 6.3±0.5 x 10^11 cm.
